This is usually the season everyone pulls out pretty, pale hues, but this time round one particular colour dominated the pastel palette. There’s a new superstar shade that’s causing a stir: it’s time to pay homage – and fill your closets – with the baby blue hue. Soft, playful, flattering and so summery, is it any wonder designers like Stella McCartney, Proenza Schouler and Fendi used it so liberally in their collections? Reach for the skies – literally – for inspiration.

Bag It

The easiest way to introduce this colour into your wardrobe? Invest in the perfect bag. Brands made it hard to pick just one but I’d opt for Jacquemus, Khaite or Loewe’s Flamenco clutch in Dusty Blue.

Khaite

Hot Stepper

From comfy sneakers (check out Adidas Sambas), to cute ballerinas and fancy Aquazzura high heels, you’ll find footwear awash with this shade. So whether you are picking up strappy Bottega Venetas for a summer wedding or need a staple work shoe, you’ll be able to find the perfect fit.

All In The Details

A Prada hairband, Versace clip or scarf to keep chills at bay are practical yet pretty buys.

Power Pairs

Splash this shade on everything from floor-length dresses to chic knits. Monotone is marvellous or marry it with others. Go bold and add a pop of colour by teaming it with brights like orange and pink or tone it down with neutrals white and cream. You’ll be surprised how this hue goes with literally everything in your wardrobe.
