Rami Al Ali finds Inspiration For His Collection In The Work of Gustav Klimt

From defined structures to elegant silhouettes, Rami Al Ali shows us the best of both worlds – presenting a truly energised collection to carry us through the Autumn Winter period

Syrian designer, Rami Al Ali’s refined aesthetic and focus on eloquent tradition has us once again arriving at a destination of true contemporary sartorialism. His A/W 2023-2024 ready-to-wear collection blurs the lines between fashion and art, delivering an imaginative series of 35 looks inspired by symbolist painter Gustav Klimt.

Klimt’s lavish artworks enthralled many in the early 1900s – with his ability to capture moments in time and reflect it back to his audiences. A similar narrative is articulated throughout Rami Al Ali’s A/W collection – showcasing the changing of the seasons through colour, structure and texture.

A refined colour palette moves its way through the looks, much like a seasonal change from winter to spring. The mood is energised with deep tonal greens that are offset by delicate rose pinks, sky blues, and warm neutrals – making reference to the timeless themes set forward by Klimt’s famed Winter Gardens.

His signature fabric manipulation and dimensional work is echoed throughout a combination of soft flowing silhouettes and decisive sharp structures most of which are embellished with glistening tassels, airy ostrich feather, and detailed beading – lending a sense of decadence to the collection and to the women who will go on to carry these designs.

Rami Al Ali’s brand continues to display understated refinement, symmetry and cohesion- all of which have become an undoubtable DNA and vision in all that he designs.
