Dubai Fashion Week, Day One: Rizman Ruzaini Opens The Season

Regal bridalwear and dreamy ballroom gowns captured our hearts at the Malaysian design duo’s A/W 24/25 presentation yesterday evening

Dubai Fashion Week’s A/W 24-25 edition commenced on Sunday 4 February and will continue up until Thursday 8 February 2024.

Malaysian designers Rizman and Ruzaini kickstarted the showcase at Dubai Design District yesterday evening with their eponymous label, Rizman Ruzaini, sending spectacular bridal wear and exquisitely-designed ball gowns down the runway.

This season, Rizman Ruzaini’s Autumn-Winter 2024 collection took inspiration from the 17^th Century’s Mughal Empire and Empress Mihr-un-nissa Begum, the duo told Bazaar Arabia exclusively.

The collection featured stately silhouettes with sweetheart necklines and voluminous shoulders, iridescent fabrics that glimmered in the light, and majestic beadwork that adorned the waists and necklines of their finely-crafted creations.

Last year, for their SS24 showcase, the design house made headlines with a viral appearance by supermodel Naomi Campbell who closed the show wearing an intricately-beaded dress and matching cape.
