El Gouna Film Festival Opening Ceremony: Arab Celebrities Make A Statement On The Red Carpet

From Yousra to Maya Diab, Nadine Nassib Njeim, Yasmine Sabri and all your other favourite stars the festivities commenced yesterday evening in the beautiful resort town on Egypt’s North Coast

More is more, bolder is better. While it wasn’t the official red carpet mantra of the El Gouna Film Festival opening night festivities, statement looks reigned supreme as celebrities embrace a sporting mentality when it came to dressing for one of the biggest nights in Arab entertainment.

Maya Diab put Met Gala attendees to shame in a Carmen Sandiego-esque ensemble (complete with oversized fedora and matching elbow-length gloves) while Shereen Reda was a vision of Old Hollywood glamour in an oyster-hued gown. Yasmine Sabri donned her signature canary yellow (designed by Rami Kadi) while Yousra was all smiles in a custom powder blue cape dress by Georges Hobeika. Nadine Nassib Njeim could have been mistaken for an ethereal fairytale princess, as she made her entrance in a gold embroidered dress by Zuhair Murad; Dorra embraced her more dramatic side in a beautiful black-and-while gown by Georges Chakra.
