Google Celebrates Dame Zaha Hadid

If you open up your Google browser on a daily basis, you'll notice that often, the search engine displays different animations and designs on its homepage. And today's is particularly special.

It's been just over one year since legendary architect Dame Zaha Hadid passed away unexpectedly, and today, Google is celebrating Zaha and her life's work with a dedicated Google Doodle

One of the most sought-after architects in the world, Hadid was responsible for the Aquatics Centre for the 2012 London Olympics, the Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul, South Korea and the Sheikh Zayed Bridge in Abu Dhabi, amongst many others. She was also the first woman to win the Pritzker Architecture Prize on this day, 13 years ago in 2004.

Of Zaha, Google writes, "Today we celebrate Dame Zaha Hadid's contribution over her lifetime to the world of architecture. Thank you, Fame Zaha Hadid, for all you've done to bring people together in the service of art and culture!"
