
Princess Reema Wears KSA Designer Mona Alshebil To Saudi Cup
Designer Mona Al-Shibl spoke to Harper’s Bazaar Saudi Arabia about Princess Reema’s appearance at the races
Her Highness Princess Reema bint Bandar Al Saud, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the United States, was one spotted at the 2023 Saudi Cup, one of the most opulent horse racing events in the world, in a stunning abaya with a matching shayla.
Her Highness’ presence truly highlighted the craftsmanship and talent of the Kingdom’s local designers, something which was further honoured with the opening of the Saudi 100 Brands Fashion Exhibition which also coincided with the racing weekend.
Princess Reema wears Mona Alshebil To 2023 Saudi Cup
Her Highness wore a long burgundy abaya with a matching shayla in the same shade, by KSA designer Mona Alshebil, and was styled by the Saudi fashion stylist, Sky.list .
“We are working on coordinating Princess Rima’s appearance on all major official occasions. We specifically chose designer Mona Alshebil for the Saudi Cup and were eager to complete the look with the appropriate accessories: a bag containing a Saudi palm tree and an Arabian tiger, both of which are fully representative of Her Royal Highness,” says Sama Al-Barum from Sky.list.
Mona Alshebil revealed to Harper’s Bazaar Saudi that the inspiration for the look came from Salwa Palace in Diriyah. “We took the distinctive geometric shape from the Salwa Palace in Diriyah, and we made sure that the design was elegant and simple to suit Her Highness.”

Mona Alshebil presented three different looks to Princess Reema. “The design consists of three pieces, decorated with delicate embroidery that included pearls. It came with a matching belt.”
The designer also shared her feelings of joy when she saw Princess Rima bint Bandar’s appearance at the cup and says: “I was very happy to see her wearing one of my designs. She is my role model and I feel proud to see her wearing this particular look.
