Rosie Assoulin Spring/Summer 17: The Best Looks
The standout looks from one of New York Fashion Week’s best collections
Rosie Assoulin is no longer a newcomer. She’s solidified herself as a go-to New York designer for statement-making, high drama, feminine fashion. And this season she brought us to the beach and back to the city.
“This was urban and the city and beach and country all together—a little bit of Long Island and a little bit of New York City,” Assoulin said. A strong shouldered printed red gown with contrasting wide belt was impactful while feeling collectible.
A sleeveless striped column dress had an ’80s prep nostalgia. “These are all preppy stripes and ribbons, all stitched together by ribbons inspired by my old beach chair at home,” Assoulin explained, giving insight into her creative design mind.
Assoulin has the summer wedding circuit on lock too, with graphic floral prints on a strapless gown. A blouse was emblazoned with crystals on the back that reads, “I wish you were here,” a literal message to remind us that in the right clothes life can always have a vacay vibe.
