Under the patronage of HH Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser as honorary chair, with co-chairs HE Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani and Tania Fares, Fashion Trust Arabia (FTA) took place last night and showcased the best in regional creativity and style across a variety of categories, shining a spotlight on up-and-coming Arab talent from the region – and beyond.
Some of the biggest names in the industry descended upon Doha yesterday, as Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums and Co-Chair of Fashion Trust Arabia (FTA), under the Patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Mossa Bint Nasser, and founder Tania Fares, welcomed VIP guests, judges, and nominees for an evening that celebrated the best in regional design, creativity and entrepreneurship.
From Bella Hadid to Karen Wazen and Naomi Campbell, A-listers walked the red carpet with wearing the best ensembles. Palestinian supermodel Bella Hadid attended the FTA last night in a stunning navy-blue silk gown by Alaia. She paired her look with classic black heels and simple accessories. This year’s judging committee included the likes of some of the top in the industry like Jordanian-Romanian shoe designer Amina Muaddi, Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad, Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing, Valentino’s Pierpaolo Piccioli who selected six winning designers across five womenswear-focused categories: Evening Wear, Ready-to-Wear, Accessories (Shoes and Handbags), and Jewellery (Fine & Fashion Jewellery), and the Franca Sozzani Debut Talent Award (Arab Fashion Design Graduate), along with the guest country award.

Additionally, the Entrepreneur of the Year Award was given to Huda Kattan, founder of Huda Beauty, and The lifetime Achievement Award was given to Valentino Garavani and accepted by Giancarlo Giammetti. And that’s not all, last night FTA and Hamad International Airport also announced that the winning designer of their joint competition goes to Zulfa Al Thani. The designer will be working on launching a new uniform of the customer facing airport staff in 2023.
