The Arab Fashion Council is partnering with Facebook to livestream the three-day event, broadcasting the shows to over two billion social media users around the world
London, Paris, Milan… and now the MENA region.
The Arab Fashion Council has announced it will be hosting the first-ever men’s fashion week within the Middle East later on this month, in partnership with social media giant Facebook Inc. and The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode.
From January 28-30, Arab Fashion Week- Men’s will be livestreamed across both Facebook and Instagram Live, allowing viewers from all over the world to tune in and watch designers from the UAE, Lebanon and other nations within the region unveil their latest in menswear. From streetwear brands to the refined tailoring of high fashion labels, the three-day event will showcase a variety of different menswear designers, including those who create gender-neutral apparel and collections.
“As the only official fashion week established within the region, The Arab Fashion Council is thrilled to launch Arab Fashion Week- Men’s and to begin a new journey to shape the future of the emerging menswear market across the Arab world both by nurturing the creativity of regional designers and, through our continued support to international designers wishing to explore opportunities within the region,” says Arab Fashion Council founder and CEO Jacob Abrian.
The council has also partnered with The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode to showcase four emerging menswear designer collections, from Paris Fashion Week Men’s, throughout the course of the event.
“Emerging brands are expressing a fashion-forward view of the world. We are pleased to present some of these talented designers from the Paris Fashion Week calendar in Dubai at Arab Fashion Week-Men’s, to allow them to increase their global reach,” says Serge Carreira, head of emerging brands initiative at the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode.
The official schedule will be announced two weeks prior to the event; the Arab Fashion Council has also noted that Arab Fashion Week- Men’s will become a bi-annual fashion week, taking place each January and June in line with the international menswear show calendar.
