BLSSD Showcases Resort 2020 Collection At Alserkal Avenue

Contemporary fashion + purpose label BLSSD is previewing its Resort 20 runway collection at Mojo Gallery in Alserkal Avenue this weekend.
In addition to showcasing the label’s latest designs – a blend of careful cuts, elegant silhouettes, confident minimalism and everyday centredness and feature styles that include statement kimonos, oversized shirts, shredded pocket skirts, puffer jackets and pleated culottes – guests will also be treated to an exclusive styling session.
The label has joined forces with Singapore-based, Swedish designer Kristin Nystrom of children’s clothing line Gardner and the Gang. Nystrom will host a styling session tonight during which she’ll offer first-hand fashion insight to interested guests.
The unique non-profit social enterprise that is BLSSD has long been dedicated to helping those whose lives have been touched by cancer. The core value of the brand is fierce gratitude or ‘Pret a Gratitude’ – the name of the Resort 20 collection.

BLSSD was launched four years ago by Lama Riachi, a cancer survivor herself, and her striking black-and-white Resort 20 range is available in boutiques in Dubai and Beirut and can be pre-ordered at www.blssdfashion.com.
“We love hosting intimate sessions and pop ups such as this, it gives us a chance to really engage with our audience,” says Riachi of the event. “It’s an opportunity to gain first hand insight into what gets our customers excited when it comes to street/luxe design and how they feel about some of the more trendsetting ideas we are pursuing.”
According to Riachi there’s a fantastic buzz in Alserkal Avenue for these sorts of activations. “Being a part of this culture district really reflects our label’s sense of community and authenticity. As a purpose driven social enterprise fashion label – this is an empowering platform for us,” she says.
The BLSSD pop-up opens at 8pm tonight at Mojo Gallery in Alserkal Avenue, Dubai and runs until Saturday.
