DKNY Bows Out Of New York Fashion Week

Another day, another designer dropping out

They’ve been a firm fixture of New York fashion week for years, but the time has come for DKNY to make their exit. The brand will now be joining a host of other designers, by offering showroom appointments instead. Following a report from WWD, the Council of Fashion Designers of America confirms that their usual 3pm slot is yet to be filled, however Derek Lam is set to move his show forward to 2:30pm.

This comes all comes after the news of G-III Apparel Group LTD completing their acquisition of Donna Karan International last month, for over Dhs2.35 billion ($650 million) from Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton. The brand will now join the ranks of Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and Karl Lagerfeld to name but a few, who are also owned by G-III Apparel Group LTD.

Other shake-ups in the company have also seen chief executive officer of Donna Karen International Caroline Brown bowing out and Public School designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne stepping down from the helm as co-creative directors, to focus on their own brand. Their replacements are yet to be announced.
