Fashion Forward: Season 7
The three-day fashion festival brought together the very best in upcoming regional design
Fashion Forward Season 7 ushered in new era for the established fashion event, which was recently endorsed by the Dubai Design & Fashion Council. Held for the first time at Hai d3, this year’s offering felt a little newer, and a whole lot more international. With 10 catwalk shows, 12 presentations and 15 brands on display in the Showcase, plus expert panel discussions and talks, this season had something for everyone.
Standout collections were delivered by Bouguessa (traditional clothing met modern tailoring), Taller Marmo (playful prints in Seventies-inspired silhouettes) and Hussein Bazaza (red carpet-worthy and really, really good), and Bazaar also loved the sleek separates made for the modern woman on the move that stormed down the catwalk at Lama Jouni.
Celebrity stylist Anita Patrickson, who’s clients include Hilary Duff, Chrissy Teigen, Julianne Hough and Chanel Iman, among many fashionable others, spoke about the power of celebrity style, Moda Operandi’s CEO Deborah Nicodemus and Senior Vice President of Merchandising & Planning Mary Chiam shared the story of the etail store’s journey from runway to retail, and Bazaar‘s Creative Content Director Katie Trotter joined Esquire Middle East‘s Editor in Chief Jeremy Lawrence to talk about the ever-evolving (and intertwined) worlds of fashion and technology.
