Gigi Hadid Joins LVMH Prize’s Star-Studded Panel
The Palestinian-American supermodel is an ambassador for the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers’ showroom this month
The LVMH Prize is considered to be of the most prolific arenas for emerging designers to take their craft and passion to the next level. The prestigious prize enables up-and-coming designers to showcase their designs to a star-studded panel of judges consisting of the whos’s who of the fashion industry, and this year, that roster of names will include Palestinian-American supermodel Gigi Hadid.
Gigi, who has over 51 million followers on Instagram alone, is considered one of the most influential names in the industry today having reportedly earned over Dhs34 million in 2019 alone. The young model has been confirmed to act as an ambassador for the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers’ showroom this month, which will benefit the competition’s semi-finalists in gaining widespread exposure through Gigi’s widespread influence.
Commenting on her new role within the initiative, Gigi said, “They are witnesses and essential actors of fashion. Their vision helps to discover the most promising talents. I would like to thank them warmly for their loyalty and commitment to our cause.”
The winner of the LVMH Prize, who will be selected from a jury consisting of LVMH’s biggest designers, will have the chance to walk away with a prize worth Dhs1.2 million along with a highly-coveted year-long mentorship from the luxury experts at LVMH.
