Giorgio Armani’s Dubai Show Has Been Postponed Due To Coronavirus

An official announcement from Giorgio Armani states the designer will not be bringing his Cruise 2021 show to Dubai in April, as originally planned. Referencing the coronavirus outbreak that has impacted a number of events in the UAE, the organisers said: “The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure in order to protect all the industry stakeholders, employees and guests who would be involved in the trip.”

The Cruise 2021 show was originally slated to coincide with the reopening of the iconic fashion house’s flagship store, located in Dubai Mall. The Italian designer has long shared a sentimental connection to the city. He last visited Dubai a decade ago to inaugurate the very first Armani hotel in the Burj Khalifa. Armani’s show is the latest among a string of fashion events to be cancelled or postponed due to health and safety concerns.

The official announcement did not mention a new date but said that the show “will be held on the occasion of Expo 2020.”
