Lebanese Songstress Haifa Wehbe Just Launched A Streetwear Line
Inspired by the city that raised her to be an individual: Beirut
Last week Lebanese singer and actress Haifa Wehbe unveiled her prêt-à-porter line, Beau Voyou, and it is a playful take on feminine street style that is bound to make the internet buzz.
The first collection is called ‘The Heart Side’ and very clearly feeds off of Wehbe’s persona, with pieces fit for a rock star who doesn’t take it all too seriously. Some of our favourites (which are already selling out!) are the fringe rainbow leather jacket and the casual tee’s with colourful abstractions printed across them.
Wehbe announced on social media: “I am delighted to finally introduce to you Beau Voyou, my brainchild, my fashion brand. I will be launching the first batch of my clothing line, my world of Freedom, of Love and Tolerance…Stay tuned! I just can’t wait! #makesometrouble.”
She teased the big announcement to her followers in recent weeks, posting photos of a button and zipper that featured her engraved initials, as well as a clothing label reading ‘Haifa Wehbe’. Leading up to the announcement, #makesometrouble has become the hashtag for her new collection. Once Beau Voyou did drop, Wehbe took to Instagram stories to share that the excitement of her fans caused the website’s server to momentarily crash. Not a bad problem to have, TBH.
The smart streetwear collection, combining leather with other unexpected materials like wool, is classified on the website as ‘idealistic but down-to earth. Inclusive but never mainstream’. It aims to create a fresh picture of beauty based on personality, with values of tolerance, diversity, and open-mindedness at its core. It draws inspiration from Lebanon, a place that celebrates self-expression and individuality.
Jackets range between Dhs3,500 and Dhs12,900 and tees range between Dhs250 and Dhs440.
