Has Meghan Markle Forgiven Emilia Wickstead?
We have so many questions
Back in May, when the Duke and Duchess wed at Windsor Castle, New Zealand-born British designer Emilia Wickstead kind of went off about Meghan Markle’s Givenchy wedding dress by Clare Waight Keller.
The designer reportedly told The Daily Mail that Meghan’s dress was ‘identical’ to one from her own bridal collection. She also made several claims about the dress being ‘too big’ and the fit being ‘too loose’ on the Duchess.
Athlough Wickstead has since backtracked on these comments, sharing a statement on social media saying, “I do not think that her wedding dress was a copy of any of our designs. I have the greatest respect for Clare Waight Keller and the House of Givenchy—a huge source of inspiration to me,” fans have been wondering if the royal family will continue to support designer.
Well, it seems like the sartorial smoke has cleared – this month both the Middleton sisters have been out wearing Emilia Wicktead – Kate Middleton was spotted wearing her favourite lilac dress to the Global Ministerial Mental Health Summit with Prince William and Pippa attended Princess Eugenie’s wedding in a bespoke emerald Emilia Wickstead dress. And the Duchess of Sussex also stepped out in Australia this week wearing the Camila wool-crepe midi-dress from the British fashion house.
It seems all must be forgiven…
