Free-spirited and vibrant, a little rebellious and completely carefree. Fendi’s Prefall 2020 California Sky collection, created in collaboration with contemporary visual artist Joshua Vides, appears to evoke a sense of playfulness in all those who wear it.
Designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi in partnership with Joshua, the collection stays true to the artist’s signature aesthetic, while incorporating west coast vibes into the line. It’s just the kind of thing you would want to throw on before hitting the town with your friends – skateboards in tow.
And, naturally, the campaign video is every bit as rebellious and exciting as one could ever image.
Known worldwide for his unique black and white ‘marker’ style, the artist adds his own spin to the range of Women’s, Men’s and Kid’s ready-to-wear pieces and accessories. Think tromp-l’oeil effects, outlines drawn along the seams and throughout the garmets, caricaturizing the entire collection with a mischievous energy.
The collection includes streetwear-chic nylon windbreakers, embossed cycling shorts and printed denim pants, along with luxurious featherweight fur coats and cardigans, reversible padded blousons, and a variety of elegant evening designs crafted from a textured cloqué jacquard fabric. Planning a beach escape any time soon? Kaftans and poplin shirtdresses are available too, alongside beachwear and activewear.
Joshua has previously collaborated with Fendi, when he worked on the Harrods’ Fendi Caffe and Peekaboo Bar pop-up in London last July.
