The four-day event starts tomorrow…
Arab Fashion Week 2020 will debut the fashion industry’s Spring Summer 2021 collections and is set to take place from October 21 – 24, 2020. The event is supported by Microsoft and in partnership with Facebook.
Virtual shows and presentations will be streamed on the social media platform to two billion users worldwide, with fashion designers digitally showcasing their work.
“The entire world is passing through a transitional period of stepping into the new world’s revolution which is governed by technology and artificial intelligence; we, at the Arab Fashion Council, are taking the right steps to ensure our fashion community is ready to be part of the big change,” Founder & CEO of the Arab Fashion Council, Jacob Abrian, says.
Arab Fashion Week 2020 will feature over 30 amazing fashion designers from Asia, Europe and America. Additionally, an entire day will be dedicated to Brazilian designers as part of the ‘Brazil Noble’ initiative.
The Council has also partnered with the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode (FHCM) who manages the world renowned event, Paris Fashion Week; the new collaboration will welcome French designers to the Arab fashion industry to create a connection between the two markets.
The event schedule includes designer showrooms, created in partnership JOOR, the leading digital showroom platform, which will connect 260,000 international buyers with designers! And while ‘the shows’ will stream on Facebook, you can shop your favourite looks via Instagram or through Arab Fashion Week’s shop-the-runway e-commerce store.
Also, trend setters and fashionistas alike can visit pop-up shops around the country to view and shop the different designers’ collections.
Lebanese superstar Maya Diab has been named Fashion Icon of the Arab World and she is set to open the fashion week.
In addition to the shows there will also be fun activations, exclusive interviews, panel discussions and much more, which will include industry experts and celebrities.
