The brand’s former ready-to-wear director will begin his new role in June

Prior to his role at Gucci, where he is now the outgoing vice president of merchandising, Jacopo Venturini previously served as brand manager and ready-to-wear director at Valentino from 2000-2004 and again in 2008, respectively.

On June 1 Venturini will once again return to the Italian couture house, but this time as CEO.

Succeeding Stefano Sassi, who is often credited with the contemporary modernization of the brand, Venturini – on account of his “sharp vision” and “unique capability” –  will be tasked with “sensing market changes” and injecting into the brand “new vibrant energies,” according to the Valentino’s chairman Rachid Mohamed Rachid.

“I’m very happy to return for the third time to Valentino, the Italian Maison which represents my first love affair in fashion,” Venturini said in a statement. “Valentino means heritage and future to me; it will be a pleasure working arm in arm with Pierpaolo [Piccioli].”

In response to his departure, Stefano Sassi notes “it has been an incredible personal and professional experience working at Valentino for the past 15 years.” The CEO whose reign commenced in 2006 expressed his absolute agreeance with the decision taken, stating it is in line with “the growing ambitions of the brand.”
