Jonathan Saunders Joins Diane Von Furstenberg

The former London Fashion Week designer has been named chief creative officer of the brand

Jonathan Saunders will be responsible for the overall creative direction of Diane von Furstenberg after being named Chief Creative Officer today. The designer will report to CEO Paolo Riva and will start with immediate effect.

“Jonathan’s extraordinary passion for colours and prints, his effortless designs, and his desire to make women feel beautiful make him the perfect creative force to lead DVF into the future,” Diane von Furstenberg announced. “I could not have found a cooler, more intelligent designer and I cannot wait to watch him shine as our chief creative officer.”​

Saunders closed his eponymous label in December 2015 after 12 years of business, citing “personal reasons” as the explanation for stepping down.

“The spirit with which this brand was founded is incredibly relevant today,” Saunders revealed. “I am thrilled to be part of its next chapter. Diane has a unique ability to deeply connect with women and I am excited to be working with Paolo on the future of the brand.”
