We were beyond excited to see Mariah Carey represent Arab fashion at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles on Thursday. The iconic songstress wore a stunning gown from Kuwaiti designer Yousef Aljasmi that looked like it was designed just for her, boasting a black sequinned bodice and a feather train. Talk about diva status!
Yousef has dressed the best in the business, from Beyoncé (remember that iconic haute couture leotard in the “Sorry” portion of Lemonade?) to Lady Gaga. He certainly has a flair for dressing superstars in perfectly over-the-top ensembles.
After showing out on the red carpet, Carey performed at the awards alongside performes like Jennifer Lopez (who also wore a Middle Eastern designer!), Cardi B, Ciara, and more.
