How Hermès’ Blends House Elegance and Tradition Into One Of Its Most Loved Timepieces
With a story that began in 1991, when house designer Henri d’Origny boldly sketched the outlines of a companion to the Cape Cod watch, elements of the Chaîne d’ancre bracelet can now be spotted within the Nantucket watch. Take a closer look here
The Nantucket watch was inspired by the anchor chain links of the Chaîne d’ancre bracelet, which became a classic Hermès piece in 1938 when it was created by Robert Dumas during a trip to Normandy. Now, Hermès has reimagined the classic timepiece that evokes a sense of understated East Coast elegance, by incorporating the traditional elements of the bracelet within the design of the watch.
Continuing the legacy of the classic Nantucket model which was created 30 years ago, this fresh perspective on the timepieces seamlessly incorporates a light and supple steel or rose gold chain bracelet within the design.
Its font is also inspired by Chaîne d’ancre universe, crafted from gold or steel in the Hermès watchmaking workshops and adorned with diamonds.
Rebelliously elegant and with a light and natural touch, the Chaîne d’ancre radiates an aura of airy and mischievous femininity, breathing new energy into the Nantucket watch.
