Olivia Palermo’s Collaboration With Karl Lagerfeld Is Coming To Dubai
New York street style meets classic Parisian tailoring in the Karl x Olivia collection
Parisian label Karl Lagerfeld has tapped a new face to make its mark on the brand: the in-demand influencer and entrepreneur with an Instagram following of almost 6 million, Olivia Palermo.
The collection, entitled ‘Karl Lagerfeld Styled By Olivia Palermo’, involves pieces from the late designer’s autumn/winter 2019 womenswear range, curated by Palermo, as well as several custom pieces that she has co-designed. The collection will pre-launch in Dubai in 12 June and will be available worldwide from 27 June.
The announcement comes mere months after the opening of Karl Lagerfeld’s dazzling store in The Dubai Mall. The eponymous brand, founded by the legendary German designer of the same name, has established itself in the region with boutiques across the UAE, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
Palermo said in a statement: “Being able to collaborate with the visionary and iconic Karl Lagerfeld is truly incredible. I am so proud to bring our shared vision to life on this project and infuse my own eclectic perspective to Karl Lagerfeld’s Fall 2019 collection.” She will reportedly make a trip to Dubai to present the collection in person.
Palermo is no stranger to the design-sphere. The fashionista boasts a string of partnerships with high-profile brands to her name, including Aquazurra, Stuart Weitzman and Piaget. Her first collaboration on a fashion line was with Nordstrom in 2016, then teaming up with Banana Republic the following year.
Never one to shy away from bold prints and colours, the tastemaker will surely add a touch of her head-turning front-row magic to the collection, whilst paying tribute to the brand’s beloved founder, who passed away in February.
