Princess Haya Ups The Style Stakes At Epsom Derby

The Dubai royal looked stunning in all-red

HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein frequents the horse races year. From the Dubai World Cup to Royal Ascot, the royal’s race day fashion has always proven to be a hit, stepping out in a slew of elegant dresses and statement fascinators. This weekend, the wife of HRH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stepped out at the Epsom Derby in Surrey, just outside London, to watch the 239th annual event.

Princess Haya looked regal in an all-red ensemble with nude accessories and Panthère de Cartier watch. Her hat was custom-made from milliner-to-the-royals, Philip Treacy, who recently designed the headwear for Lady Kitty Spencer, Oprah Winfrey, Priyanka Chopra and Camilla Parker Bowles at the royal wedding. Her daughter, Sheikha Al Jalila bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, was also in attendance and looked lovely in a cream outfit and Philip Treacy hat.

Earlier in the weekend, the mother-daughter-duo were pictured at Ladies’ Day looking as stylish as ever. Princess Haya wore a yellow tweed dress whilst Sheikha Al Jalila wore an on-trend starry polka dot number and ballet flats.

The event is one of the highlights of the horse racing calendar and for the Dubai royals, who all boast a competitive equestrian background. Princess Haya has long has a love of horses. At the age of 13, she became the first female to represent her country internationally in the field of show jumping, is the only female equestrian to win a Pan-Arab Equestrian Games medal, the mother-of-two represented Jordan in the 2000 Sydney Olympics – and was her nation’s flagbearer at the event -, has won multiple Jordanian national show jumping championships and was the youngest person to win the International Golden Helm Award in 2000.
