River Island Collaborates With Ashish
And it looks as comfy as it is sassy
London-based designer Ashish Gupta, famed for his explosion of sequins on the runway, has collaborated with high-street giants River Island on a gender neutral collection.
The collection is playful and just as colourful as you’d imagine from the three time New Generation-winning designer. The 15-piece collection features loungewear, outerwear, dresses, tracksuits, puffa jackets, embroidered pyjamas and a whole load of tongue-in-cheek slogans – all with plenty of sparkle, of course. But, in true Ashish style, the collection takes a sartorial twist, and all pieces will be retailed to both male and female customers, making it the first ever gender neutral collection in the 10 River Island Design Forum lines that have been presented so far.

Ashish started his enpyonymous label in 2005, after moving from his home in India to London to complete a masters at Central Saint Martins, and has quickly become one of the most anticipated shows on the London Fashion Week schedule. His latest spring/summer 2017 collection celebrated his heritage with sequined saris, traditional Indian fabrics, rich embellishments, and barefoot girls with jingling ankle bracelets.
Although Ashish has 10 successful collections for Topshop under his belt, this is the designer’s first ever collaboration with River Island, where he will be following in the footsteps of Sibling, Eudon Choi, Zoe Jordan, who have all previously designed collections for RI X Design Forum.

The collection will be available exclusively online from September and with price points ranging between Dhs140 to Dhs850.
