Sheikha Hoor Al Qasimi Will Take Over Her Brother’s Eponymous Fashion Label

“Hoor will seek to maintain Khalid’s aesthetic. She will strive to stay true to this messaging”

It’s been three months since the tragic passing of Sheikh Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi. The Sharjah-based royal and creative director left behind his eponymous fashion label Qasimi, which has been operating without a creative director – until now.

Sheikha Hoor Al Qasimi, the president of Sharjah Art Foundation and the sister of the late Sheikh Khalid will be taking the helm of her brother’s fashion line.
Sheikha Hoor is the president and director of Sharjah Art Foundation (SAF) and one of the key driving forces behind Sharjah’s culture scene at large. She is passionate about the preservation of Sharjah’s heritage buildings and historic character, and has worked with many artists, historians, critics and curators over the past several years and has a strong involvement in the UAE’s creative scene.

According to a statement released by the brand, Sheikha Hoor will now head up all creative and business responsibilities alongside the brand’s head of design, Adam Rice.

“While bringing her artistic sensibility to Qasimi, Hoor will seek to maintain Khalid’s aesthetic, which was centred around the idea of an urban nomad and built upon the pillars of architecture, colour, military details and social-political messaging. She will strive to stay true to this messaging,” says the statement.”

“Above all, Hoor will endeavor to preserve – and further – Khalid’s legacy and make sure that his memory is kept alive. She will present autumn/winter 2020 during London Fashion Week Men’s in January 2020, as Khalid’s last show, before presenting her own inaugural collection, spring/summer 2021 in June 2020.”

39-year-old Sheikh Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi passed away in London on July 1.
