Supermodel Lindsey Wixson Retires At 23

The fashion favourite has decided to focus on her artistic talents

One of the most recognizable faces in fashion, Lindsey Wixson, has decided to hang up her high heels in the hopes of turning her artistic pottery projects into a full-time business. The model, who was discovered at age 15 by famed Italian photographer Steven Meisel, shot to fame in the pages of Italian Vogue and was quickly snapped up by Storm modelling agency in New York. Having walked for everyone from Carolina Herrera, Prada, Chanel, Dior, Moschino and many more brands over her 8 year career, Lindsey has also been cast as the face of many campaigns including Versace for H&M, Chanel, Miu Miu and most recently for Dior, earlier this year. 

To all my fashion fans, I am sad to inform you that my injury has put me in a position to retire from this high heel business. I have an artistic side that wants to shine through. I feel that this disablility has come to me with a purpose. To show me that I must carry on. This industry has brought me so much and I am grateful for the lessons I have learned. Now more than ever I feel it is important to listen to my body and the changing times of this industry and peacefully try to move on. Taking to her Instagram to announce her new venture, Wixson Designs, the Kansas native revealed it was a lingering leg injury that is forcing her into retirement, but she’s optimistic about her future.
