The line was scheduled to land in stores and online today, but won’t be available for purchase until August 27

H&M’s first collaboration with an Arab designer won’t be shoppable in stores or online tomorrow as the company announced earlier today it will postpone the launch to August 27, following the devastating news of the explosion which occurred in Beirut yesterday.

While a new date has yet to be revealed, fashionistas will need to patiently wait before they can get their hands on the dreamy pieces that make up the ‘Fleur du Soleil’ collection.

Inspired by the beauty of nature and strong female artists such as Toyen, Dorothea Tanning, Bibi Zoghé and Lena Leclercq, the line includes whimsicle pieces that incorporate edgy detailing into the designs.

“The inspiration for the H&M collaboration was nature and natural elements. Especially the sunflower, which represents the cycle of life, and its dependency on sun and light. Poetry and painters inspired the selection of fabric – the dark laces, jacquards, and embroidered organza,” designer Sandra Mansour said.

“With the ‘Fleur du Soleil’ collection, I want to talk to women around the world by sending a message of hope, something we really need right now.”
