The Ones To Watch: Where To Dine, What To Shop and More This June 2024
Fashionable food, pedal pushers and epic art, here’s what to look out for this June…
Local Heroes
“We want our pieces to be small wearable sculptures sought out by all,” says Noura, who along with Sarah and Mashael, is behind Saudi-born jewellery brand APOA (A Piece of Art). Known for creating statement work that’s not for the fashion-faint-hearted, the trio’s latest collection stars the bold 59-year-old Lebanese influencer Grece Ghanem.

Tell Tales
The beguiling space between myth and reality has been explored by Iranian artist Leila Eskandari in Whispers of Legends, her debut exhibition at Zawyeh Gallery in Dubai’s Alserkal Avenue. Running until July 28, Leila’s series of colourful artworks are inspired by the Shahnameh – an ancient Persian epic poem filled with mythical figures and tales.

The Long And Short Of It
The evolution of the Capri pant dates back to the 1950s, with sporadic sartorial returns over the decades. Back then, they were worn with boat-necks and tucked-in blouses. Roll on to 2024 and we’re wearing our pedal pushers with oversized blazers, tank tops and waistcoats finished off with a sandal or ballet pump à la Audrey Hepburn.

Not A Hugger
The Hug bag by Ferragamo is back for the summer holidays and this time, in hand woven raffia. Taking a break from its usual luxury leather, this carry-all has all the vacation vibes we want this month.

Euro Trip
After closing the doors on its debut location in Wasl 51, much-loved Portuguese eatery Lana Lusa has reopened at Four Seasons Private Residences. Located on the Dubai Canal, the restaurant has a larger menu including a heritage section filled with dishes inspired by the grandmother of the restaurant’s founder, Jessica Kassim Viveiro.
