Exclusive: Barbara Palvin Takes Us Behind-The-Scenes Of Tod’s Circus Collection
The supermodel tells us about being the face of the Italian brand’s playful new range and what inspires her own style
Enter the whimsical world of Tod’s new limited edition Circus Collection – bags, shoes and accessories that are a colourful prelude to the festive season. Created by fashion icon Anna Dello Russo, this cheerful line features sneakers, loafers, shoulder bags, quirky charms and phone covers in vibrant spurts of colour. Think elephant and clown bags covered in stripes with glitter and feather detailing.
Supermodel Barbara Palvin, who features as a clown in a special video for the collection, speaks to us about the fun-filled project and what inspires her own style.
Harper’s Bazaar Arabia: How did this video project come about?
Barbara Palvin: I’ve had the chance to work with Tod’s a few times in the past, so they reached out to me if I wanted to be a part of this project and, of course, I said yes!
HBA: Did you enjoy the shoot?
BP: It has been great working with this team! Everyone was really professional and funny, I enjoyed every moment of it.

HBA: In the video, you are entirely covered in colour. How long did it take to create this particular make-up look?
BP: We filmed for half a day because it was a step-by-step make-up look based on the bag from the upcoming Tod’s Circus Collection. It was so much fun.

BP: Creative. Genius. Unique. Spectacular.
HBA: How would you describe the brand Tod’s?
BP: It is an amazing brand that suits everyone with a different style. Great quality and fashionable accessories.
HBA: As an international model, what is the main difference between the Italian approach to fashion and luxury and that of other fashion capitals?
BP: Every fashion city/country is different and special in its own way, but Italian fashion and luxury are just spectacular. It is fierce, colourful and full of life.

HBA: What do you consider the most important aspect of your style?
BP: I consider my style to be chic casual. I really love comfortable clothes with unique accessories.
HBA: What defines an iconic accessory? Do you have a personal favourite?
BP: An iconic accessory should be something timeless, outstanding and chic. My personal favourite accessories are handbags, sunglasses and high heels.
