Valentino Garavani To Receive Legacy Award
The legendary designer’s five-decade career will be celebrated at the Green Carpet Fashion Awards
Italian couturier, Valentino Garavani is confirmed to the prestigious Legacy Award at the third edition of the Green Carpet Fashion Awards ceremony in Milan which will take place on September 22. The event which takes place at the La Scala Theater, will celebrate the acclaimed designer’s outstanding legacy and undeniable contribution to the fashion industry.
Carlo Capasa, Chairman of the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana said, “Through his iconic work spanning over five decades, championing Italian talent, design and fashion, Valentino is a creative visionary and truly deserving of the Green Carpet Fashion Awards’ Legacy Award.”

The Green Carpet Fashion Awards were founded in 2017 by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana celebrate and recognize the efforts of brands committed to integrating sustainable business practices and ideals into their operations. This will be the third time that the socially responsible awards will close Milan Fashion Week.
The ceremony’s Legacy Award , considered to be the highest honor of the evening, is awarded only to those individuals whose contributions to the industry have withstood the test of time. Last year, the Legacy Award recognized the career of the iconic fashion journalist and critic, Suzy Menkes.
