Vestiaire Collective Is Auctioning Off Some Of Kate, Naomi And Gisele’s Most Iconic Pieces
Here’s how you can get in on the action
If there was ever an auction not to miss, Vestiaire Collective‘s next offering is it. The pre-owned luxury e-tailer has teamed up with supermodel Toni Garrn to auction some of the most iconic pieces in fashion history for an ultra-worthy cause.
All of the proceeds made from the auction will be donated to the Toni Garrn Foundation to help build school boarding houses in Zimbabwe. Garrn explains her inspiration for the sale to help girls in the country saying, “These homes will enable teenage girls to be able to live on site and finish their education avoiding the 14km walk to and from school every day which eventually leads to them dropping out. Now anyone can participate and own a piece from their favourite model’s closet, while doing something good at the same time!”
As for the famous faces involved? Kate Moss, Gisele Bundchen, Constance Jablonski, Karlie Kloss, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Joan Smalls and Naomi Campbell are among just some of the A-list names that have signed up to donate pieces.
The pieces will be sold via pop up shops in Berlin, London and Paris – “We’ll spend a few days in each city, and we’ll divide the clothes to try and keep items in each store that are natural to the city they’re in and models they’re from”, says Garrn – as well as online from November 2. “The best pieces, and the most expensive gowns, we’re going to auction off online.”
Some of the amazing pieces already confirmed are a one-of-a-kind vintage denim jacket from Kate Moss and Carrie Bradshaw’s iconic Eiffel Tower bag from Sex and the City which has been donated by legendary costume designer Patricia Field.
We’ll race you to the checkout on November 2.
