From Spirited Away to Paula’s Ibiza: LOEWE’s most beautiful collaborations
We look back on Loewe’s cult collaborations…
LOEWE has long mastered the art of collaboration, bringing its signature craftsmanship and playful spirit to some of the most memorable partnerships in fashion. Under the visionary leadership of former creative director Jonathan Anderson, the Spanish luxury house reimagined the boundaries of design, infusing each project with storytelling, artistry, and a global sensibility.
Here is our edit to LOEWE’s most iconic collabs so far: from the whimsical magic of Studio Ghibli and the carefree spirit of Paula’s Ibiza, to heartfelt partnerships with artisan studios around the world. Curated and championed by Anderson, these collaborations aren’t just limited-edition drops — they’re love letters to craft, culture, and a truly original sense of style, before we usher in the genius of newly-appointed creative directors Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez.

LOEWE X Howl’s Moving Castle
Beloved Studio Ghibli film Howl’s Moving Castle, one of the most commercially successful animated films worldwide, was brought to life by Spanish luxury fashion house Loewe in a standout collaboration. The instantly sold-out collection featured the brand’s iconic Puzzle, Flamenco, Hammock, Amazona, Luna, and Bracelet Pouch bags, alongside leather goods, jumpers, jackets, shirts, and the show-stopping Howl’s Coat.
Jonathan Anderson, Loewe’s former creative director and the visionary behind the brand for over a decade, described the collaboration as a celebration of different perspectives. Originally released in 2004 and based on the novel by British author Diana Wynne Jones, Howl’s Moving Castle is a story of magic, loyalty, and compassion.
The highlight of the collection was Loewe’s most daring piece to date: a bag inspired by Howl’s Castle. Priced at AED 78,190, it was crafted from over 250 pieces of leather and linen, assembled with the skilful integration of six distinct Loewe bag designs—a true testament to the brand’s artisanal mastery.

LOEWE X Suna Fujita
For the festive season, Loewe’s SS24 pre-collection invited whimsy through a heartfelt collaboration with Kyoto-based ceramic studio Suna Fujita. Founded by artists Shohei Fujita and Chisato Yamano, the studio’s charming, hand-painted illustrations—rooted in childhood memories and family life—came alive across ready-to-wear, accessories, and ceramics.
From pandas and penguins to otters, lemurs, and mandragora roots, the collection was brimming with playful creatures set in dreamy worlds, from oceans and meadows to outer space. Signature bags like the Puzzle, Flamenco, and Hammock were reimagined in deerskin, metallics, and embroidered marine scenes, while cosy coats, puffer bombers, and fluid dresses bought festive joy with a refined touch.
A portion of proceeds from every purchase supported Save the Children’s Education in Emergencies program, making this collection as meaningful as it was magical.
LOEWE X Spirited Away
Loewe’s second collaboration with Studio Ghibli dived into the enchanting world of Spirited Away, the Oscar-winning 2001 classic by Hayao Miyazaki. Following the success of previous My Neighbor Totoro capsule, creative director Jonathan Anderson bought the beloved characters of Chihiro, Haku, Yubaba, and No-Face to life through masterful craftsmanship.
Inspired by the Japanese ‘boro’ technique, that involves patchworking indigo-dyed scraps that are patch worked together, the collection celebrated texture and form. Relaxed silhouettes like hoodies, oversized jumpers, T-shirts, and puffers became canvases for detailed jacquards, appliqués, leather marquetry, and embroidery. The result was a wearable tribute to loyalty, courage, and imagination.
From ready-to-wear and scarves to blankets and bags, the collection turned Spirited Away into a tactile, fashion-forward fairy-tale.

LOEWE X William Morris

William Morris, the iconic 19th-century artist and textile designer, found new life in Loewe’s capsule collection, reimagined by former creative director Jonathan Anderson. With exclusive access to the Morris & Co. archives, Anderson selected four timeless prints—Strawberry Thief, Forest, Acanthus, and Honeysuckle—dating from 1874 to 1883.
Infusing Morris’s romantic, nature-inspired designs with punk elements like bleached denim, vivid orange accents, and canvas finishes, the collection felt both nostalgic and fresh. Forest motifs bought knits and jackets to life, while Strawberry Thief became a show stopping embroidered outerwear piece.
Known for his obsessive attention to detail, Anderson’s tribute blended the poetic past with Loewe’s modern edge—offering heritage lovers and style rebels something to covet.

LOEWE X Paula Ibiza
The beloved LOEWE Paula’s Ibiza collection, first launched in 2017, has become one of the most anticipated summer releases. Often described as a brand within a brand, the collaboration is now in its eighth season. What began as a nostalgic nod to a little-known boutique that defined Ibiza’s lifestyle in the 1970s has blossomed into one of the industry’s biggest success stories. Paula’s Ibiza is a perfect introduction to LOEWE’s vibrant world, reinventing holiday-focused fashion with denim overshirts, bags, hats, and classic pieces like the Puzzle bag and T Pouch. It’s the ultimate ready-made travel wardrobe, designed to get you summer-ready in style.
