The much-awaited India Couture Week 2023 is finally here. From new collections, celebrity appearances to exciting events, this year’s events have truly caused quite the buzz online for various reasons.

This prestigious event stands as the focal point of haute couture fashion in India, with designers carefully crafting each piece with unique attention to detail. The India Couture Week is an unmissable extravaganza. Organised by the Fashion Design Council of India and Hyundai Motors India, the 16th edition of this gala affair is currently taking place in New Delhi from July 25 to August 2, 2023, and is one to look out for.

The popular Indian designer made heads turn last evening during his incredible couture show. With showstopper Shraddha Kapoor, the newly launched range includes an array of modern silhouettes with traditional craftsmanship, the perfect partnership.

Falguni Shane Peacock

With the Barbie-core mania sweeping all the dimensions of fashion, it is no surprise that this trend has touched the space of Indian couture and wedding wear. Walking alongside their showstopper Kiara Advani, the designer duo displayed their pink masterpiece. Encrusted with crystals and beaded tassels, the closing outfit created a large impact and anticipation for their collection Renaissance Reverie.

Ritu Kumar

Indian weddingwear veteran Ritu Kumar has been famous for the articulate hand embroidered work as well as the striking attention of detail that goes into every piece produced. Aditi Rao Hydari, the showstopper looked absolutely royal in a white and gold two piece that was created out of zardosi and hints of Kashmiri embroidery.

Varun Bahl

Bhumi Pednekar looked as ravishing as ever as the showstopper for Varun Bahl. The unique gold, floral piece made of hand embroidered flowers was nothing short of spectacular. Inner Bloom 2023, Varun Bahl’s latest collection can be compared to living in a whimsical day dream.

Gaurav Gupta

Gaurav Gupta has mastered the art of creating pieces that demand attention yet reek of a subtle class. The work on his muse, Jhanvi Kapoor ranks highest on his numerous couture pieces. The perfect choice of colour, fit and design left the audience and us in awe!

Rimzim Dadu

 Hydrochromic, Rimzim Dadu’s latest masterpiece encapsulates the meaning of life through the concept of ebb and flow showcased through abstract designs. Ananya Panday shines bright as the show stopper for this striking collection.

Kunal Rawal

A collection designed to pay tribute to his homeland, India. Kunal Rawal’s Dhupo Chao does the job of evoking a sense of nostalgia while making space for modernity. The collection is perfectly showcased through the striking demeanor of Bollywood’s sweetheart, Ranbir Kapoor.

JJ Valaya

Gujrati heritage and a rich legacy of Indian textiles provide a foundation for JJ Valaya’s collection, Baroda. Inspired by modern day interpretations of India’s past, this collection is pivotal in changing the way we view Indian craft and culture.

Tarun Tahiliani

Tarun Tahiliani’s focus for his new collection “For Eternity” is the clothes and nothing else. The show provides a love letter to India’s heritage, textiles, culture and of course, it’s people.

Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna

Sobhita Dhulipala’s fierce walk for Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna’s showcase was sure to turn some heads but what was even more jaw dropping was the creative vision behind the runway show. Inspired by celestial bodies and the night sky, Equinox enclosed the magic of astronomy behind every piece of clothing.

Anamika Khanna

A match made in heaven, Athiya’s powerful supermodel confidence, elegance and glamour did justice to Anamika Khanna’s colourful creation.

Rose Room

Romantic Reverie by Isha J draws inspiration from old Hollywood glamour and the French Riviera. Nostalgic of a glamorous time, the intricate details of hand embroidered chikankari and lace evokes a sense of class and regality. Show stopper, Vaani Kapoor does justice to Isha J’s creative mind.

Shantnu & Nikhil

The perfect blend of Italian heritage and Indian craft. Shantanu and Nikhil’s Etheria successfully perfected the concept of drawing inspiration from the West yet sticking to one’s cultural roots. “A timeless journey through the opulence where Italian allure meets Indian splendor, indulging in the magic of the Gatsby Era and the grandeur of Roman palaces.”

Dolly J

Disha Patani proved to a the perfect muse for Dolly J’s collection that drew inspiration from celestial bodies. Metallic hues that develop a sense of mystery and wonder created a foundation for Dolly J’s The Enigmatic Moon.
