A New Line Of Luxury Hijabs Has Just Launched

This week, Haute Hijab, a leading retailer of the Muslim headdress in the U.S., launched its first collection of luxury hijabs.

Haute Hijab is the brainchild of founder Melanie Elturk, who only had two hijabs to choose from when growing up in Detroit in the late ‘90s. In 2010, with husband Ahmed Zedan, Elturk launched her e-commerce site with the aims of making hijabs accessible and rich in choice.

Fastforward to 2018 and the brand has released first ever line of luxury hijabs. There are five pieces in the collection, all of which are hand-crafted and made from 100 percent silk, Swarovski crystals, hand-cut lace and other embellishments.



“In order to build a world where women have beautiful options for every occasion, we’ve designed the standard of luxury for hijab,” says the Haute Hijab team in a statement on their blog.

“The Haute Hijab team is shaking up the industry by creating an entire new category in the fashion space,” the brand’s Egyptian-American Muslim creative director Gizelle Begler says on the launch of the luxury pieces.



Haute Hijab marries the traditions of the Middle East with a modern, American aesthetic. The brand’s signature styles come in a spectrum of block colours, limited edition prints that drop every Tuesday and different sizes.
