Today, homegrown Dubai fashion label Dinz launches its ‘Tropical Bubblegum’ collection, a fizzing celebration of fashion fun in easy-to-wear yet glamorous silhouettes and Insta-worthy prints. Designed by sisters Dina Zahran and Rima Zahran Al Matrooshi, Dinz was founded in 2008 and quickly gained recognition for its colourful take on traditional Ghutra scarves.

Eschewing the traditional spring/summer and autumn/winter fashion calendar, Dinz collections are released in-season for instant gratification. “We live in a world where consumers like immediate satisfaction; when we see something we like, we want it now. Our customers are able to get our pieces almost as soon as we launch them,” says Dina. Priced between Dhs400 and Dhs1,000, the ‘Tropical Bubblegum’ collection is designed to be mixed and matched and includes off-the shoulder tops with voluminous sleeves and tie-front midi-skirts – ideal for the woman who likes to make a style statement even when off-duty. It also includes new colourways of Dinz’s much-loved Puff Puff top, first introduced earlier this year. “We try to structure our pricing in a way where our pieces are affordable and people can purchase an entire outfit or several pieces rather than just one item,” Rima tells Bazaar, “I would rather have a customer buy three tops than think twice about buying just one.”

The stand-out print from this collection is a flamingo motif that taps into the current revival of the kitsch favourite and Ras Al Khor’s most famous avian resident. “I have always loved flamingos because they’re just so cute and feminine, plus they’re pink,” Dina laughs, “I wanted to take an almost childish element and use it on cuts and shapes that are quite elegant and feminine in order to create unique pieces that are still very much Dinz.”

Unashamedly enthusiastic in its approach to dressing up, the Dinz ethos is fun and glamorous in equal measure. Rima explains, “The Dinz woman is confident, daring, loves life and lives for fashion. She loves to dress up and mix and match different pieces that sometimes match, and sometimes don’t, but she always looks super stylish and comfortable. One day she’s in a dress and sneakers, and the next day she can be in sky-high heels and ripped jeans. Whatever she’s wearing she makes it her own, and she always has a smile on her face and exudes positive vibes.” Dina adds, “We like people to have fun with our pieces and play around with them; we don’t want to dictate the way you wear Dinz, it’s up to you to have fun with.”
