Noor Al Bahrani’s A/W22 Collection Is Matchy-Matchy Mummy-And-Me Dressing At Its Very Best

Named after the designer’s daughter, Joud, the collection is a heart-warming example of tight-knit family bonds

Launching a clothing brand the same month that a global pandemic brought the world to a standstill, is not something founder and director of her namesake label, Noor Al Bahrani had envisaged. “While going into lockdown soon after I launched my brand took me by surprise, I used it as an opportunity to learn. It helped me build a strong foundation and understand how to tackle different hurdles that may come our way,” The Oman-based designer tells Bazaar Junior.

Born and raised in Muscat, fashion design and launching her own label is something the entrepreneur dreamt of from a young age – owing to her own mother’s devotion to fashion and bespoke garments. With a dream of creating collections that evoke feminine individuality, the mother-of-two shares, “My vision has definitely evolved since my first collection. I see my brand as a space where mothers and daughters can come together to share their love for fashion. My inspiration is motherhood and the memories I’ve made with my children. This is what helps me design with ease and with love.”

An ode to the family bond with a penchant for storytelling through fanciful silhouettes, Joud, Noor Al Bahrani’s autumn/winter 2022 collection is named after the designer’s eldest daughter. Inspiring a new vision of modest modernity with elegant kaftans and billowing dresses in matching mummy-and-me iterations, each piece is crafted from fine fabrics underscored with delicate embellishments.

The aesthetic is “graceful, elegant and dreamy,” much like the beauty of the family’s farm – the shoot location for the label’s latest campaign – which is the perfect backdrop to mirror the collection’s very essence.
