Ones to Watch: What To Shop, Where To Eat And What To Read This Month
The return of Zadie Smith, bold gold and belts as far as the eye can see are just a few things to look out for this October
Up on the Roof
Chez Wam — French slang for “chez moi” — is the latest hotspot to open in the new restaurant village, St Regis Gardens on The Palm. As well as Chez Wam, the open-air, rooftop terrace also houses the fine-Indian dining concept Tresind with Spanish and Italian restaurants coming later this autumn. Look out DIFC, you have a restaurant rival.

Mellow Yellow
This creamy tone hits the sweet spot of versitility and colour. Even better, it pairs exceptionally well with black. Look to Tove, Givenchy, Loewe or COS for a buttery wardrobe pick me up.

Above the Belt
Belts are back in a big way this season: hip-slung coin belts (’00s kids, we never thought we’d see them return!), maxi skinny belts that graze the knee, corset belts whipping our waists into shape, and the lazy sweater belt that’s tied around the middle to create that hourglass silhouette with minimal effort.

Literary Lodestar
The return of best-selling author Zadie Smith — known for the modern day classics White Teeth and Swinging Time — pens her debut in historical fiction with The Fraud. It tells the tale of a real-life 19th-century criminal case, which is not lacking in a multi-racial storyline.

Sculptural Jewellery
This is the season to be as bold as brass when it comes to your accessories. The chunkier and clunkier the better.
