Why Does The Blue Carpet Always Seem To Beat Out The Red? The 10 Best Dressed Celebrities At The Oscars After Party
When it comes to the Academy Awards fashion choices, it’s become all about the after party…
The jury is in and it wouldn’t be the Oscars if it weren’t for, well, relatively “safe” dressing options that made their appearances on the red carpet; at this year’s 94th Academy Awards, it seemed as if most of the drama was provided by Will Smith. Where were the bold, the daring, the memorable and the experimental looks?
Celebrities (and their teams) are naturally very protective of their image, especially when it comes to the Oscars. Being the closing ceremony of the season, the image that is projected is one that will crystallise in our collective memory for the rest of the year at the very least, so the stakes are too high; the idea of making a faux pas, missing the mark, or ending up on a Worst Dressed list is not worth the risk.
But at least there’s the after-party, which clearly delivered this year; it’s as if the main event was just a teaser. Once the initial media blasts went out, the stars really came out to play. From Anya Taylor-Joy’s netted veil and sheer tulle dress by Dior, to Jessica Chastain’s mercurial green gown by Gucci (which she accessorised with her Oscar trophy) to Julia Fox’s grip dress by Han Kjøbenhavn designed in collaboration with Naomi Gilon, the blue carpet stole the spotlight.
Here, we are 10 of the Best Dressed celebrities from the Oscars After Party.
