In Conversation with a Flower: How Prada’s New Campaign is Spreading Springtime Joy Around The World

The luxury brand will be offering limited-edition packs of marigold, daisy, and sunflower seeds at flower kiosks at various shopping destinations from September 14-16

Spring 2024 may be months away, but Prada has just unveiled a special initiative for their Autumn/Winter 2023 campaign inspired by… flowers.

For three days the Italian fashion house will be presenting limited-edition Prada packs of marigold, daisy, and sunflower seeds at flower kiosks and various shopping destinations in Milan, London, Paris, New York, Dubai, Seoul, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Qinhuangdao and Tokyo.

Photographer Will Vanderperre has shot images based on a script written by the Pulitzer Prize–winning author, Michael Cunningham, bringing the campaign to life: the story behind conversations between people and flowers, inspired by Prada’s latest menswear and womenswear campaign which is centered around planting and propagation, spreading new blooms all over the globe.

Benedict Cumberbatch, Hunter Schafer, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Letitia Wright, and Li Xian are the stars of the campaign, interacting with oversized floral creations that are meant to resemble flowers on a human scale, illustrating the worldwide values of beauty, care, and love.

The campaign will also be extended onto digital platforms with the use of a filter made exclusively for individuals uploading content to various social media platforms. The digital filter shall consist of 3D images of Prada’s flowers blooming on users’ screens, with customizable special effects.
