3 Regional Brands At PFW
Elie Saab
On September 30, Lebanese designer Elie Saab took the main stage as he launched his Ready-to-Wear SS24 collection in front of a distinguished audience, including Palestinian singer Elyanna and Saudi film producer Mohammed Al Turki. Set on a twilight blue ramp, the collection titled Moonlight Shadow was presented against the backdrop of a large iridescent moon.
The collection featured 67 looks in total, coloured in vibrant hues of white, turquoise, peach and beige, and decorated with floral embroidery, polka-dot patterns, jewel embellishments and mirror motifs. Bringing a Mediterranean twist to contemporary party wear, the award-winning designer featured a luxurious selection of silk capes and kaftans mixed with a collection of coats and tapered trousers.
Harper’s Bazaar Saudi cover star Amira Al Zuhair walked for Elie Saab and donned a turquoise and white two-piece featuring a long striped pleated skirt and a matching top with a bow tie.
Georges Hobeika
On September 29, Lebanese fashion designer Georges Hobeika released his Ready-to-Wear SS24 collection titled Goddess of Love, set against the backdrop of the ancient city of Baalbek in Lebanon. Inspired by feminine grace and elegance alluded in Greek mythology, the runway showcase took place opposite the Baalbek Roman ruins and highlighted the ethereal and mystic allure of the collection.
Painted in sandy, olive, mint and cream tones, the collection features over 100 looks that are inspired by the infamous “The Birth of Venus” by Italian master painter Sandro Botticelli and sees delicate and clingy fabric that highlights body silhouettes and portrays sensual forms, mirroring the emergence of Goddess Venus from the sea. With gowns that are majestically bejewelled and intricately embellished, Georges Hobeika’s latest collection is fit for true royalty.
Rami Al Ali
On September 27, Syrian fashion designer Rami Al Ali released his Ready-to-Wear SS24 collection, showcasing his new looks through Instagram against an elegant beige background.
Inspired by floral motifs, the collection features a range of 30 looks with innovative asymmetrical cuts balanced out by highlighting traditional feminine silhouettes that are coloured with soft pastel hues with pops of royal blues and oranges. Masterful embroidery and detailed beadwork exude sophistication while pleating and ruching adds drama, making this collection stand out as the most beautiful blossom among them all.
