The first Riyadh Fashion Week, hosted by the Saudi Fashion Commission, promises to be a spectacular event set to debut in Riyadh on October 20 at King Abdullah Financial District. The highly-awaited event will span an exciting four days, dedicated to showcasing the remarkable talents of designers from the region.
The fashion week aims to highlight Saudi Arabia’s rich culture through the creative vision of local talent, as reflected in their diverse and finely crafted creations. The showcase will fulfill a wide array of fashion categories, encompassing luxury wear, street style, and ready-to-wear collections.
To kick off Riyadh Fashion Week, a designer who is yet to be revealed will be the opening act; their latest collection will be unveiled at the show’s premiere. A gala dinner with highly-esteemed VIP guests hailing from the fashion world will be hosted on opening night, aiming to firmly establish Saudi Arabia’s fashion scene on the global stage.
Couture and bridal collections will be the sole focus on the second day. The following two days will be dedicated to women’s and men’s ready-to-wear collections. Among the names set to grace the runway are renowned Saudi Arabian designers including Abadia, Adnan Akbar, Tima Abid, Youssef Akbar, and Atelier Hekayat.
In addition to the mesmerising runway shows, a dedicated showroom will be set up to display the designers’ collections, allowing buyers and media to get an even closer look at the unique creations of these gifted designers.
“Riyadh Fashion Week is the next step in our efforts to build the full value chain in the country, supporting growth of the local fashion sector led by emerging Saudi talents,” said Burak Çakmak, CEO of the Saudi Fashion Commission. “Over only the past few short years, Saudi has invested heavily in local fashion talent and created a thriving fashion sector that is now receiving international attention.”
