Couture week is in full swing, bringing with it fashion at its finest – and cutest, as of last night. Former Bazaar cover star and supermodel Coco Rocha walked Jean Paul Gaultier’s Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2018 show with two-year old daughter Ioni James Conran.
The mummy-and-me duo wore matching outfits and The Grinch-esque hairstyles as they walked – and struck silly poses – down the runway, before heading backstage to pose for a slew of behind-the-scenes social media snaps, which were posted on Gaultier, Ioni and pregnant Rocha’s Instagram accounts.
Gaultier’s latest Haute Couture collection paid homage to his 95-year old mentor Pierre Cardin, who sat front row amongst actress Marion Cotillard and designer Nicolas Ghesquiere.
The clothes were inspired by the Swinging Sixties, which was evident in the graphic prints, full-on fringing and sharp-shouldered jackets with cinched-in waists and exaggerated peplums.
This isn’t Ioni’s first forway into modelling. Last summer the tot walked her first ever show in Paris high-end kids’ label Bonpoint, but sharing the catwalk with her 29-year old mother has brought things full circle and we can’t wait to see what Ioni does yet.
