3 Crazy Things That Happened At Calvin Klein’s NYFW Show
The runway was covered in 50,000 gallons of popcorn
Things seriously heated up at Calvin Klein’s fireman-inspired NYFW Show. From runways made of popcorn to silver-foil gloves, here are five memorable moments to know from Simons’ third collection for the American fashion house…
Models wore high-vis jackets…
Creative director Raf Simons paid tribute to the emergency services with high-vis orange padded macs, hand-woven woolly balaclavas and silver-foil dresses. After the show, Simons said he was inspired by “heroes, a lot of them, from firefighters onwards”.
The runway was made of popcorn…
Not only was the catwalk covered in entertainment’s favourite fodder – 50,000 gallons of it, to be exact – guests also had to wade through mounds of the stuff to reach their seats. It took about three weeks to pop it all,” says Michael Bloch, owner of the Rochester-based Popcorn Charlie’s, which provided the edible decor for the show. Models also walked the runway clutching boxes filled with the snack.
It was the most star-studded front row of NYFW yet…
Nicole Kidman, Millie Bobby Brown, Margot Robbie, Cindy Crawford, Lupita Nyong’o and Karlie Kloss were just some of the many a-listers that sat FROW at the show.
