"I’ve arrived in Torino! First things first, time to get familiarized with the city and see the beautiful sights. With such a rich history, I’m eager to take a quick look around before show prep begins and experience what the city has to offer."

"As part of participating in TFW we were invited to take part in B2B meetings to make contacts with key European suppliers. I’m ready for day one of B2B meetings taking place at Galleria San Frederico 25. We’re also taking part in workshops about entrepreneurship in fashion and trends on digital services within the fashion industry."

"I feel incredibly honored to have been invited to take part in TFW by the Islamic Fashion & Design Council who are working to open doors for modest fashion designers worldwide. This is just a few of the points I discussed for my interview with a local TV station. "

"It’s show day! I’m so excited to be presenting my AW17 ready-to-wear collection, which features modest styling and looks I designed exclusively for TFW. The models look beautiful with minimal fresh makeup and romantic, braided updo styles."

"It’s almost showtime so I’m doing a final check of the models to make sure their looks are perfect. I always get pre-show nerves but the chaos backstage barely allows me time to dwell on it!"

"Sommet International de la Mode held an awards ceremony for the best IFDC Designers taking part in TFW. I’ve been awarded 2nd place in the luxury category! I’m completely shocked and honored to receive this award."

"Dreams don’t work unless you do, which is a mantra I also live by! This past week in Torino has been a whirlwind but I’m humbled by the experience and feel honored to be representing modest fashion and Oman on an international level."

Created exclusively for Torino Fashion Week, Amal Al Raisi's A/W17 collection drew inspiration from Omani architecture with delicate gold and silver embellishments detailed across each relaxed, loose-fit silhouette. Using luxurious yet lightweight fabrics to accommodate the temperatures in the gulf, all of the looks were designed with Muslim women in mind. Produced by the Islamic Fashion and Design Council, Torino Fashion Week's modest category featured handpicked designers (including Dubai's Bambah by Maha Abdul Rasheed) showcasing abayas, kaftans and jalabiyas with models taking to the runway in hijabs and turbans, celebrating the style and elegance of modest fashion.

Participating at the event in association with Sabco Group, Amal, who launched her ready-to-wear eponymous label in 2015, also won second place in the luxury category at an awards ceremony for the best IFDC designers, held by Sommet Internationale de la Mode. "I’m incredibly grateful to have won second place... I’m excited to take my collection to Paris and open doors there. It was an honour to take part in such a high profile event aimed at exposing global markets to the modest fashion industry while providing emerging designers an international platform to display their collections," said Al Raisi of her experience.
