1. Elie Saab's dazzling autumn/winter 2019 Lovestruck collection
The Lebanese designer's Paris Fashion Week show was a decadent tribute to the romantic and free-spirited nature of the ‘70s. It gave us maximalist bows, feminine scarves, heart embellishments, and oversized sleeves galore. Look after look, it was one of the brand's most exciting collections to date.
An all-star front row was in attendance; the top regional influencers were on-site, including Lana El Sahely, Leena Al Ghouti, Nathalie Fanj and more, showing up to support the regional fashion label.
2. The Hadid sisters' twinning moment
The supermodel duo (of Palestinian descent!) scheduled some sister twinning time into their hectic Fashion Week schedules, turning up to the LVMH Prize party in coordinating head-to-toe white outfits. Bella went for an off-white trench coat with black neck tie, whilst Gigi opted for a bright white boiler suit with statement gloves, both girls wearing their hair slicked back. Is science lab chic a thing? If not, it is now.
3. Nora Attal dominating the runway
The young model-of-the-moment has been jetting all over the world for Fashion Month, walking for seemingly every big name in the business. In Paris, the British-Moroccan model graced the runways of Jacquemus, Dior, Loewe, Chloe, Hermès, Lanvin, Rochas, Altuzarra…as you do when you're, you know, a soon-to-be supermodel.
4. Camila Coelho and Winnie Harlow in Okhtein
Not one but two high-profile celebs were spotted sporting handbags from Egyptian brand Okhtein. British model Winnie Harlow had a busy Fashion Week, being one of the stars in the Tommy Hilfiger x Zendaya extravaganza, and chose a bag from the accessory brand’s Minaudière range. The Brazilian influencer, on the other hand, took her Black Mahogany bag to the Isabel Marant show. Okhtein, a firm celeb favourite (just ask Beyoncé), prides itself on its heritage and supporting the local Egyptian community so it's great to see them going global.
5. All the influencers at the Dior show
We spotted a myriad of familiar faces from close to home in attendance at the Dior show: the likes of Karen Wazen, Leena Al Ghouti, Lana El Sahely, Dana Hourani and Negin Mirsalehi, to name but a few.
6. Sevdaliza makes a rare Fashion Week appearance
The avant-garde Dutch-Iranian artist made her runway debut for Y/Project, wearing a dramatic ball gown. The essence of Y/Project is very much in keeping with Sevdaliza’s signature experimental style. She also attended the Givenchy show, and looked heavenly in a sleek black power suit with feathered angel wings.
7. Bella Hadid being an absolute catwalk pro with 101-degree fever
Amidst her packed Fashion Month schedule, Bella took to Instagram stories to announce that she had a fever, telling her fans that it’s “not cute when walking a runway”…but she still hit the catwalk for Off-White and Redemption and looked pretty stunning, if you ask us.
8. Hedi Slimane unveils his second Paris Fashion Week Celine collection
The brand’s Artistic Director, of Tunisian descent, surprised his audience with a nostalgic return to Celine’s more classic, even bourgeois, looks: a far cry from his debut rock-and-roll collection.
9. Ola Farahat and Nathalie Fanj in Azzedine Aleia
The two Arab influencers treated us to these looks honouring the late Tunisian couturier – Ola looked ready for business in a black catsuit and Nathalie chose a dress with black cut-out leather bodice.
10. Azzi and Osta's autumn 2019 Rewind to 00:54 ready-to-wear collection
The Beirut-based label presented its disco-style '70s-inspired collection, paying homage to Studio 54. The collection was all about ruffled jumpsuits, popping metallic colours and a whole lot of glamour.
11. Karen Wazen and Negin Mirsalehi in Balmain
Karen Wazen dazzled in this iconic Balmain dress with over-the-top sleeves while between shows and Negin Mirsalehi looked radiant in this all-white outfit for the French fashion house's show.
12. Halima Aden makes her Paris Fashion Week debut
The trailblazing modest fashion model was another one of the stars selected for the iconic Tommy x Zendaya extravaganza, which championed inclusion and diversity. She looked incredibly fierce in this retro '60s-print trench coat.
She also ran into the Hadid sisters, taking to Instagram to tell her fans how delighted she was to see them. This trio gets a big yes from us.
13. Yara Shadid stops by Zendaya's party
Another Tommy x Zendaya attendee we spotted was actress and activist Yara Shahidi, looking radiant in a halter neck top of the same print as Halima's ensemble, taking time to hang out with A-list pals including Gigi Hadid and Janelle Monae.
Press play to find out all of the regional designers who popped up on the Oscars red carpet.
