How Dior And Harrods Are Spreading Festive Cheer This Christmas
The Fabulous World Of Dior’ takeover of London department store Harrods sees two iconic fashion forces coming together this holiday season
It’s beginning to look a lot like Dior … at Harrods. The jingle of bells aside, this year the iconic British department store’s season’s greetings for its trusty shoppers is a generous dose of Dior. The French luxury house brings its art de vivre flair to the English institution with its The Fabulous World of Dior spectacle.

Until early January, all is calm and bright at the iconic Knightsbridge one-stop as its 44 traditional Christmas windows get immaculately dressed by Dior. The glowing installation references artist Pietro Ruffo’s work for the Dior cruise 2023 collection, including signature motifs like the compass rose, lucky stars and scintillating flowers. It is a theatre of wonder boasting scenery made of gingerbread with details sculpted in sugar and caramel, emblematic Dior dresses reinterpreted as confectionery and candy, not to mention a 17-metre-tall sculpture on the dome that makes it the store’s largest to date.

But what greets visitors outside is but a tantalising first taste. Inside, multiple treats, surprises and Instagram-friendly décor accents await shoppers with this collaboration that also celebrates a 70-year-long friendship between the two brands. For starters, there’s a pop-up designed as an authentic gingerbread house depicting Monsieur Dior’s Atelier at 30 Montaigne. Then there are the sugary Lady Diors dancing on a conveyor belt. And Dior devotees will be thrilled to know that there’s also a gift shop with a special capsule collection exclusively created for Harrods.

Don’t miss the ephemeral spaces entirely devoted to beauty either, with Dior’s new couture fragrances and make-up in a sensorial gallery-like experience. Hansel and Gretel have nothing on the fantasy universe made of finely crafted cookies, that serves as an immersive exhibition for curious shoppers. And for the final taste of the luxury house, there’s the Café Dior at Harrods, serving French culinary specialities with a British twist. The box of gingerbread biscuits shaped after famous Dior symbols like the Bar jacket, the Dior Book Tote, Saddle and Lady Dior bags are the ultimate sweet treat to walk away with. Truly, all we want for Christmas is Dior.
