Middle Eastern Designers Took Red Carpet Fashion to the Next Level at The 2021 Cannes Film Festival
From Tony Ward to Elie Saab, here’s a roundup of Middle Eastern designers who brought couture to Cannes
Rami Kadi
Starting with Rami Kadi, world renown Lebanese American fashion designer, Kadi glammed the gorgeous Dorra Zarrouk in a pleated glistening gown. With a delicate silk chiffon, Zarrouk looked angelic as she made her way around the film festival. The addition of sequins made Zarrouk sparkle, making it the perfect dress for this breathaking Tunisian actress.
Fatima Almomen, famous Kuwaiti architect looked pretty in pink dressed by the same Rami Kadi. Almomen’s figure was complimented by a fitted strapless bustier dress with a flowing feathery tulle. This electric fuschia gown shows off a glimpse of Almomen’s legs with the most subtle slit and unquestionably she attracted the most attention. We can’t stop staring.
Atelier Zuhra
Farhana Bodi shined bright in a canary yellow gown designed by Atelier Zuhra. Unlike anything we’ve seen before, this custom dress was made specially for this Instagram influencer. With a short front and long train, Atelier Zuhra’s combination of dress lengths married uniqueness and elegance together. The chiffon ruffles aligned wonderfully with the other gleaming gowns that Middle-Eastern designers created for this festival.
Elie Saab
German model Lorena Rae walked the carpet in a dazzling dress designed by Elie Saab. Rae’s gown was adorned with an array of crystals and feathers that bolstered the infamous opulent couture that Saab is known to create. The geometric silver lines that decorated the faded pastel pink made the look sophisticated and elegant. Rae’s look radiated a soft presence thanks to the delicacy of the feathers that were added to the top and bottom of the dress giving this precious gown fine and tender details.
Tony Ward
The last look that caught our attention was a remarkable gown by Tony Ward. This Lebanese – Italian designer never fails to impress his audience. Diipa Büller-Khosla, an admirable Indian influencer who has won numerous rewards, modeled this Tony Ward dress with grace. The one-shoulder dress blends two contrasting textures together, uniting them with glistening gold sequins making the asymmetry a beautiful cross between traditional and trendy.
