#StyledByCed: Cedric Haddad Shares His Hot Five for A Fashionably Successful Spring

If anything is going to warm our souls it is knowing that the layering season is over and spring is here

On the SS24 runways, designers played with classic elements which included throwbacks to the 90s, casual styling and proportional designs which dominated the catwalks. The colour palette that invaded many of the collections was warm, peachy and super-pretty with the quiet luxury trend still firmly in place. It’s time to remove the Teddy coats and get a spring in our step…

1. It’s Pants

Carolina Herrera
Gold trousers, Dhs1,400, 12Storeez

High-waisted, palazzo or pressed, trousers made a statement on the catwalks. While some were cropped and others cuffed, the lightweight trouser can be worn with anything from a white T-shirt to a button-down blazer.

2. All White

Jean Paul Gaultier
Jil Sander

A trend that is forever in season, a white dress can be worn anywhere. With chunky boots or
ballerinas, throw on a whimsical white dress to wear day and night.

3. Coming Up Roses

Simone Rocha
Silk Cape, Dhs3,450, Prada

This trend is strictly about roses. Endless designers promoted this specific bloom, so make sure you steal the show in this forever-floral.

4. Shine On

Carolina Herrera
Gold-tone Sweater, Dhs5,800, Dior

Metallics never went anywhere and this season, they are more glorious and gleaming than ever. Think sequinned skirts, lamé tops and sparkly shoes. Don’t forget to enjoy the pieces you already have in your wardrobe, after all, as well as making it fashion, don’t forget to make it sustainable too.

5. Denim Forever

Chanel
Coperni

While denim is a fashion constant, I loved the unexpected ways the textile was utilised on this season’s runways. From Chanel to Schiaparelli designers really surprised us with their denim designs by reinventing classic styles for the current day.
