On arrival at a historical museum, one might expect to be greeted with statues of Roman Gods with Rodin-esque stances in Renaissance marble. But at the Brooklyn Museum, in place of historical figures from the 1800’s, you’ll find four famous faces from the millennial music scene.
The installation, which is powered by music streaming app Spotify, depicts “four statues for four young icons”.
Cardi B sits alongside fellow rappers Jaden Smith, Juice WRLD and Gunna, who are all part of Spotify’s RapCaviar playlist, and is sculpted wearing a dress from Beirut-based label Ashi Studio.
The white floor-length dress features intricate embroidery, a V-neck cut and cape-like sleeves. She is styled wearing a head piece and cuffs from New York-based brand Laurel DeWitt and earrings from California-based brand 21HM.
This is not the first time Cardi B has sported an Ashi Studio creation. The artist wore a couture creation from the Lebanese designer at the 2018 Grammys.
